Construction Project Manager



We are pleased to recruit for a company whose corporate purpose is to create chemistry for a sustainable future and has been doing so for 150 years. Their portfolio ranges from chemicals, plastics, performance products and crop protection products to oil and gas. Their products and solutions contribute to conserving resources, ensuring nutrition and improving quality of life. Our client is expanding and seeking a Construction Project Manager in Falmouth, MI.



The Buyer uses expertise for a range of purchasing activities, including pricing and negotiating with suppliers to reach highest quality at best value. Performs complex purchasing activities, while ensuring procurement procedures are in compliance with government laws, regulations and management objectives.



Responsibilities:



Works with the Project Manager to plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate construction project from start to finish according to schedule, specifications and budget



Oversees Facilities construction site, general contractors to ensure a high level of quality and safety.



Review and Approve Safe Work Permits



Hold a Daily Safety Briefing, Coordinate site activities with Prime Contractor's Site Superintendent



Ensures that the project is constructed and documented in accordance with the contract documents and good engineering practices



Ensure quality workmanship and quality inspections are conducted. Retain and maintain a file of test and inspection reports



Identify, mitigate, and track construction issues



Adhere to legal regulations, building and safety codes, and other requirements



Conduct and document quality assurance and safety inspections throughout the construction process, ensuring that the work environment is acceptable and that tools and equipment are in good working condition



Maintain and update SOW and construction documents, and meet contract obligations by developing relationships with reliable contractors and vendors



Acquire equipment and material and monitor stocks to timely handle inadequacies



Plan all construction operations and schedule intermediate phases to ensure deadlines will be met



Respond efficiently and effectively to work delays, emergencies, and other project disruptions



Obtain permits and licenses from appropriate authorities/agencies



Conduct Pre-Start up inspections and maintain Pre-Start-up Checklists



Reports the status of projects to Management



Requirements:



5+ years of industrial construction experience required. Oil and Gas experience is a plus.



Construction Safety Practices and OSHA regulations (30 Hour OSHA Training)



Working knowledge of Civil, Mechanical and Electrical Construction, including utilities (pipeline experience a plus)



Knowledge of construction methods and technologies and an ability to interpret technical drawings and contracts



Knowledge of building-code requirements and scheduling methods



Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with an eye for quality



Good oral and written communication skills



Working knowledge of Civil, Mechanical and Electrical Construction, including utilities (pipeline experience a plus)



Must have a valid driver's license and current state required minimum vehicle insurance coverage to drive onto Client and Company property.



Education: Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) in engineering or related field



Location: Falmouth, MI 49632



Pay Rate: The pay range for this position is $70.00 – 71.00 per hour; however, the pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This pay information is being provided pursuant to applicable law and is based in part on market location.



Work Schedule: Mon – Fri; Days



Length of Assignment: Contract
