Must Haves:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
- 5–10 years of relevant experience in water and wastewater engineering
- Familiarity with local and state regulatory requirements, especially in North Carolina
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with civil design software (Auto CAD, Civil 3 D, or similar design software)
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively
Plusses :
- PE license is a plus, but not required (or the ability to obtain one within a year or two)
- Direct experience working with North Carolina utilities or municipalities
- Experience with hydraulic modeling
- Experience with Water and Wastewater Treatment Plants
- Proficient with Microsoft Office programs such as Excel and Word
- Experience with permitting with NCDEQ

Insight Global is seeking a skilled and motivated Civil Engineer with 5 to 10 years of experience in water and wastewater engineering sitting in South Charlotte for one of our Engineering consulting firms. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in the planning, design, and management of water infrastructure projects. Below are some of the day-to-day responsibilities.
- Lead or support the design and development of water and wastewater projects, including pump stations, pipelines, treatment plant upgrades, and distribution systems
- Prepare construction drawings, technical specification, engineering reports, and cost estimates to support project planning, design, and implementation
- Coordinate with clients, subconsultants, regulatory agencies, and internal teams
- Assist in permitting and regulatory compliance processes
- Support project management, budgeting, and scheduling
- Conduct site visits and oversee construction activities as needed
- Mentor junior staff and support business development efforts
