POSITION OVERVIEW: We are seeking an innovative and results-driven Electrical Engineer to join our team within the Aerospace and Automotive sector. This opportunity is based at a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility located in Davenport, Iowa a vital contributor to advanced materials production and global exports. The site has been a leader in the industry, driving modernization initiatives that include substantial investments in high-performance material production.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage all stages of assigned electrical engineering projects, including conceptualization, scope definition, technical documentation, vendor selection, system design, installation, commissioning, and post-project evaluations.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across production and maintenance to tackle challenges and implement solutions effectively.
- Utilize advanced tools, such as PI Vision and Data Link, to diagnose and resolve process inefficiencies, ensuring optimal system functionality.
- Develop and implement advanced electrical control strategies aimed at enhancing process reliability and equipment performance.
- Provide technical assistance for troubleshooting and resolving equipment-related issues in partnership with production and maintenance teams.
- Design and execute PLC, HMI, and control system upgrades to improve operational efficiency.
- Install, configure, and maintain industrial camera systems for equipment diagnostics and monitoring.
- Integrate smart manufacturing technologies to improve automated inspection systems, enhance data analysis, and drive process enhancements.
- Foster knowledge-sharing by mentoring team members and conducting training sessions to enhance understanding of processes and equipment.
- Flexibility to provide support during non-standard hours as necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized institution.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in the design, installation, and maintenance of electromechanical systems within a manufacturing environment.
- Hands-on experience with PLCs, HMIs, AC/DC drives, motors, measuring devices, and industrial Ethernet camera systems.
- Proven track record in leading electrical projects, including budget management and scheduling.
- Proficiency in Rockwell programming software (e.g., RSLogix, Factory View).
- Competence in Microsoft Office Suite and project management tools.
- Strong communication skills, adaptable to diverse audiences, including shop-floor personnel, peers, and leadership.
