Estimator

A nationwide construction company in the area is actively searching for a Estimator to work on commercial/industrial restoration projects in the area.

We are looking for an Estimator for the Detroit office. As an Estimator, you will be responsible for estimating complex self-performed construction projects. Projects typically consist of concrete repair, masonry restoration, waterproofing, structural strengthening, etc.



Job Duties:



Preparing estimates by calculating various statistical data such as quantity take-offs, material price lists, labor costs per man-hour, equipment costs and applying to complete scope of work



Defining and quantifying scope of work and preparing comprehensive conceptual, budgetary, and construction cost estimates for projects



Reviewing / researching historical data and compiling summary reports to develop guidelines and precedence for future estimates



Qualifications:



Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Construction Management is preferred



5-12 years of concrete repair construction estimating experience



Ability to work with a team to estimate projects up to $10 Million



Ability to evaluate, quantify and capture specification requirements within the estimate



A strong understanding of the greater Pittsburgh construction market, including current market prices and clients (i.e: engineers, architects, property managers and owners)



Previous experience maintaining client relationships while performing light business development



Demonstrated construction math and computer skills including Microsoft Excel and / or construction estimating software. Must also be able to demonstrate ability to read blue prints
