Unified Communication Technician (NEC)

The Site Dedicated UC Technician (NEC) will deliver software and hardware service including break/fix, moves, adds, changes, and routine maintenance including monthly after hours server patching. Customer has an existing NEC platform in their contact center and remote sites in the Dallas Metro area.
Position Details
Contract position estimated through Sept 2024
Standard work hours: Mon-Fri 8AM-5PM (OT as needed)
Location: Mobile worker- Dallas, TX. The main site is located in 75202
Valid Driver's license and a dependable vehicle. Will support up to 15 customer sites in the Dallas Metro area. The main site will support 90% of the time.

Essential Functions
Comprehend basic knowledge to install hardware and program NEC UC platforms which may include some or all of the following functionality as per certification: Contact Center; Unified Messaging; Chat; Presence; Voice; Mobility; Audio; Web; Video; Desktop Sharing; Call Control; Speech Recognition; Unified Messaging; Email; Digital Signage etc.
Respond effectively to customers and provide technical support to them in line with the organization's process
Document completed tasks in accordance with agreed organizational procedures
Competent with cables or connecting equipment in line with technical requirements
Install and work with a variety of digital communications mediums as appropriate to the organization.
Analyze and troubleshoot system problems by selecting the appropriate tools and techniques and escalate to a higher level where necessary.
Install and configure appropriate applications as necessary
Interpret technical specifications for activities and maintain accurate records
Travel to client sites as needed to complete assigned work and transport a variety of items (e.g. tools, equipment, supplies, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring the availability of materials required at client site
Experience Requirements
2 years of professional experience in Voice Telecommunications
Required: NEC Univerge 3C, UM8700 voicemail
VOIP experience required with any of the following NEC series SV9100, SV9300, and/or SV9500
Strongly preferred: Analog GW, Client, Contact Center, Call Recording & MTS Call Accounting
Other Qualifications, Skills & Certifications
Ability to install, service, program, test & troubleshoot NEC UC systems
Current NEC manufacturer certifications, or specific training which include Premise Based; Hosted and cloud Solutions. Including applications associated with NEC
Familiarity with UC applications and other Legacy Voice products.
Awareness of cloud services/solutions
Has a knowledge of routers and switches
Working knowledge of IT test or diagnostic equipment, different types of cabling and connectivity, and security principles including software, access, encryption and regulation
Knowledge of the purpose of firewalls, VPN and Remote Access Security, and data (including network architectures)
Understanding of IP protocol and functionalities
Knowledge of managing voicemail and understanding of PRI protocols, SIP, &basic Telco
Possesses knowledge of networks: data, protocols and how they relate to each other; the main routing protocols; the main factors affecting network performance including typical faults, and approaches to error control
Awareness of backup and storage solutions and service level agreements
