Job Description

The Project Engineer or designate will actively lead tool and product maturation, co-ordinate and assist in the activities of the Program Management Department


Leading tool and product maturation required for the specific program (injection mold, check fixture, etc.).

Ensuring that all problems related to tasks are being addressed and tasks are progressing as effectively as possible using time bound program timelines.

Working both individually and in coordination with a Program Manager, to support Manufacturing and Quality Engineers to create and modify tool maturation schedules.

Attending product design and tool design feasibility meetings.

Supporting change implementation related engineering and technical administrative activities.

Working with Program Manager, identifying specific activities that require detailed coordination and taking ownership on designated items – leading the team members and functions interacting in the process.

Supporting designating product launch activities from Tooling Kick Off (Gate 2) to successful volume production (Gate 5).

Attending team communications meetings on a regular basis (APQP).

Ensuring that all problems related to tasks are being addressed, with major issues or risks being formally communicated to the Program Manager assigned.

Advocating and fostering a team environment within both the department and throughout the division.

Having full understanding of company ISO and TS standards and requirements

Supporting internal plant manufacturing, tooling, and continuous improvement activities during management system audit events, providing evidence in support of conformance with applicable standards and procedures, and participating in corrective action activities.

Ensuring a clean and safe work environment is always maintained.

Completing any other duties as assigned.

Assisting in any way, to any employee necessary to promote a successful operation emphasizing customer satisfaction

Maintaining positive employee relations and safe work environment


Must possess a secondary school diploma or equivalent

Recognized Engineering Technical Diploma in related area

Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering preferred


Must have 2-5 years' experience within the automotive engineering field

Knowledgeable in integrated manufacturing technology, quality methods and customer deliverables as they relate to the products under development or in production at manufacturing facilities

Advanced skills in Microsoft Office programs, specifically Excel



Quality, Environmental Health & Safety, and other relevant Company Policy awareness

Ability to perform well in high pressure situations

Ability to communicate effectively both written and verbal.

Possess sound financial and business insights

Meets expectation rating (rating score of 2 or 3) in all applicable Competencies as defined in the Performance Management Process.

Capable of independent travel to, from and within designated regions

Access to reliable transportation
