Position Summary :

The Credit Administration Officer position is responsible for the credit monitoring of loans which includes clearing exceptions, borrowing base monitoring and covenant monitoring, managing ticklers and covenants, and imaging documents into the bank’s core system. The CAO is also responsible for assisting the Monitoring Manager with training new Monitoring personnel.

Essential Functions:

  1. Monitors loans for compliance with loan covenants. This function includes reviewing financial covenants for accuracy, clearing exceptions, and imaging the files into the core system.
  2. Monitors loans with borrowing base requirements. This function includes reviewing account receivable aging’s and borrowing base certificates, processing loan availability forms, and tracking compliance in the bank’s monitoring system.
  3. Manage covenants within the bank’s monitoring system for new, renewed, and closed loans; and clears credit exceptions in the system. This function includes reading and understanding executed loan documents.
  4. Create borrowing base certificate and certificate of compliance templates based on the (un)executed loan agreements and approved credit package.
  5. Reviews and approves credit documents on our n Cino platform for imaging into the bank’s core system.
  6. Assists in training new Monitoring personnel.
  7. Conduct loan reviews as requested by the Chief Credit Officer.
  8. Mentor to the Credit Analyst team as needed and available to answer credit-related questions involving commercial underwriting and loan policy.
  9. Communicate with the Loan Officers, Lending Assistants, and other Credit personnel as needed on credit related items.
  10. Assists in various projects as needed for the Credit Department.

Position Type:

This is a full-time, exempt position. Typical work hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm.

Travel:

Minimal travel is expected for this position. Occasionally this person may have to travel to other bank locations for the training of credit analysts.

Work Environment:

This job operates in a professional office environment. This position uses office equipment such as computers, phones, copy and fax machines, calculators, filing cabinets and printers.

Physical Demands:

This position will be responsible for writing, typing, speaking, listening, lifting (up to 50 pounds), driving, carrying, seeing (such as close, color and peripheral vision, depth perception and adjusted focus), sitting, pulling, walking, standing, squatting, kneeling and reaching.

Mental Demands:

The incumbent in this position must be able to accommodate reading documents or instruments, detailed work, problem solving, customer contact, reasoning, math, language, presentations, verbal and written communication, analytical reasoning, stress, multiple concurrent tasks and constant interruptions.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited 4-year college or university preferred; and more than 4 years of related experience and/or training at a financial institution in the credit administration department; or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Work related experience should consist of a financial institution credit department background. Educational experience, through formal school or financial industry related curriculum, should be business or financial industry related.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in credit underwriting.
  • Intermediate skills in computer terminal and personal computer operation, with advanced use of Excel.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience with FIS system preferred.
  • Effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Demonstrates the ability to multitask effectively and accurately as well as extremely detail oriented
  • Ability to deal with difficult problems involving multiple facets and variables in non-standardized situations.
  • Effective organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Current driver’s license and a vehicle with appropriate insurance coverage if required to drive in the course of performing assigned duties and responsibilities.
