Raycap, Inc. , an industry leader in manufacturing solutions for telecommunications, renewable energy, transportation, defense, and other applications, is seeking Third Shift Laser Cutting Operators for our Kearny, NJ facility. This is a fast-paced role within a sheet metal manufacturing environment.
The Laser Operator is responsible for all functions related to daily production output. This position requires the use of computers, CAD programs, basic hand tools, and precision measurement instruments.
Third Shift Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 11:00 p.m.-7:30 a.m.
Includes an additional shift differential
Primary Job Responsibilities:
Program, set up, and operate CNC lasers-preferably AMADA systems
Collaborate with production leads to meet demand and stay on schedule
Inspect parts to ensure they meet quality standards and are free of defects
Perform routine maintenance on machinery
Maintain a clean and safe work area
Partner with Quality, Environmental, and H&S teams to ensure compliance with all operational and regulatory requirements
Adhere to all safety and environmental policies and uphold high-quality manufacturing standards
Requirements:
Minimum of 2 years' experience in laser programming and setup, preferably with AMADA equipment or similar sheet metal CNC systems
Ability to read and interpret 2 D prints, 3 D models, and work instructions
Knowledge of sheet metal processes, nitrogen usage, and feed rates
Proficiency with basic measurement instruments to verify component accuracy
Strong verbal communication skills
Excellent time management
Ability to adapt and thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
Physical Demands:
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., and to stand, bend, and move frequently throughout the shift
Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled production environment
Preferences:
Experience in sheet metal fabrication
Understanding of laser machine capabilities and limitations, including cut settings
Experience with NC coding, including making edits based on job requirements
Forklift experience
BREAK/LUNCH: 30-minute lunch, plus two 15-minute breaks, to be determined by manager
