Ophthalmic Technician



Bowie, MD



MUST:



Ophthalmic Technician experience



Must have experience performing manual refractions



DUTIES:.



Understanding and compliant with all job related standard operating procedures



Contributing to the continuous improvement of the standard operating procedures



Ophthalmic testing, including auto refraction, vision acuity, topographical mapping, lensmeter and eye dilation



Completing patient forms with all pertinent information



Stocking all medication and medical supplies



Maintaining a focused approach to data entry to ensure that required reports are accurate and available on a timely basic



Performing preliminary screening of patients to include: visual acuity measurement, eye exam, visual fields (confrontation, Humphrey, Client, & Tangent), applanation tonometry, ocular motility, papillary exam, slit lamp exam, keratometry, lensometry, and refraction.



Performing specialized ophthalmic testing and assists in minor surgical procedures such as: color vision testing, A & B scan ultrasound, ophthalmic photography, fluorescein angiography, corneal topography, Heidelberg Retinal Tomography, Optical Coherence Tomography.



Submitting reports of general interpretations noting various diseases or conditions observed from the photographs, and request consults with physician concerning various aspects of interpretation.
