Service Desk Technician

Summary

TEKsystems is seeking a Service Desk Technician to join a team that provides Tier 1 and Tier 2 technical support for our client based out of Frankfort, KY. The team consists of over 20 professionals handling a wide variety of calls and emails, often in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment. New staff members should be prepared to adapt to consistently high call volumes and dynamic situations.

Required Traits and Skills

At least 1 year of IT experience in Help Desk or Desktop Support roles, including performing desktop support and troubleshooting.

Excellent attendance and reliability.

Outstanding customer service skills and temperament, including:

Polite and respectful language.

Ownership and accountability.

Empathy and patience with upset or angry customers.

Strong communication abilities.

Critical thinking and troubleshooting skills.

Ability to explain technical concepts simply and clearly.

Initiative and a self-starting attitude.

Preferred Competencies

Experience in customer service roles.

Familiarity with IT-related tasks, such as desktop support, operating system functionality, and application troubleshooting.

Experience in phone center or help desk work.

Adaptability to dynamic and ever-changing environments.

Team collaboration and multi-tasking capabilities.

Clear and concise documentation skills.

Knowledge of remote support and account management processes.

Position Details

This is a long-term, stable opportunity with our premium benefits included. The assigned hours for this position are Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m., with occasional Saturday shifts.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $22.00/hr.
