Job Title: Sr. Design Engineer – Metal Building Systems
Position Summary:
A growing design and manufacturing firm is seeking an experienced Design Engineer to lead the design of pre-engineered metal building systems using Metal Building Software (MBS) and related tools. This role is ideal for a technically skilled, client-facing professional who thrives in a collaborative, close-knit team environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design safe, code-compliant pre-engineered metal structures using MBS and complementary software.
- Collaborate with internal teams to deliver accurate design packages and solutions.
- Participate in technical discussions with clients; serve as a key point of contact during design reviews and project updates.
- Provide field support and resolve design-related questions with practical and timely solutions.
- Contribute to continuous improvement and team collaboration initiatives.
Required Qualifications:
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
- Minimum of 5–10 years of experience in metal building design ; candidates with this background will be best equipped to quickly learn MBS.
- Proven ability to engage in client-facing conversations with clear, fluent English communication.
- Strong understanding of structural engineering principles and building codes.
- Proficiency with design software, particularly MBS (preferred), and familiarity with steel design and coordination with trades.
