Job Description For Licensed Psychiatric Technician (Correctional Facilities) Company: Cell Staff
About the Role:
As a Licensed Psychiatric Technician, you'll provide mental health care to inmates in correctional facilities. You'll help assess their conditions, give treatments, and ensure their safety and well-being.
Responsibilities:
Check inmates' mental health, note changes, and report findings to doctors or psychologists.
Give out prescribed medications and watch for side effects.
Offer individual and group therapy to help with mental health issues.
Work with doctors, nurses, and officers to provide the best care.
Monitor inmates' behavior and help manage any issues in a calm and safe way.
Document all care and treatment given to inmates.
Follow rules to keep the facility safe, especially during challenging situations.
Help during mental health emergencies and get additional help when needed.
Qualifications:
~ Must have a valid California Psychiatric Technician license.
~1 year experience as an LPT.

Skills:
Knowledge of mental health issues and medications.
Ability to work with inmates in a secure, sometimes stressful, environment.
Good communication skills.
Ability to work as part of a team.
Able to work in a correctional facility, which can be stressful.
Able to stay on your feet and handle challenging situations.
Pay range and compensation package:
Local Rate: $45/hr
