Job Description:
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned. Plans, lays out, draws, and revises detailed part, assembly, and installation engineering drawings from basic layouts, established references, and standard data in a field of specialization such as structures, devices, mechanics, electrical, or electronics. Utilizes computer aided design equipment and/or graphic tools such as, CAD, CAM, CATIA, Pro Engineer or SolidWorks. Completes details of major layout drawings prepared by others in accordance with standard engineering drafting practices. Determines scaling; inserts necessary reference planes, centering and dimension lines, hidden line interpolations, and sectioning; prepares specifications for parts, assemblies, and installations; prepares complete production detail drawings; contributes design modifications to improve quality of product or facilitate manufacturing operations.
What you'll be doing:
Supporting Client s product portfolio by working with multi-functional teams to create BOMs, and part numbers and implement Engineering Change Orders (ECO)
Champion optimization of documentation processes that aligns with Client s products' design cadence and operational needs.
Review and improve existing processes and documentation. Create and maintain standard processes captured in design reviews, releases and postmortem learnings.
Work with engineers to understand designs and structure documentation using tools such as SolidWorks, Agile and Windchill
Maintain alignment of assembly structure and GTINs between engineering teams, operations, and partners such as contract manufacturers
Achieve tight-knit collaboration from all cross-disciplinary participants.
What we need to see:
Bachelor's degree in engineering discipline or equivalent experience (degree not required)
Understanding of engineering hardware components (including electrical components), manufacturing methods, and flow
Experienced in CAD modeling, specifically SolidWorks and PDM vault workflows.
Background in documentation for New Product Introduction (NPI) mechanical product development and production tooling
4 years of supporting engineering teams
Exceptional organizational and interpersonal skills and attention to detail
Culture of continuous learning and ongoing process improvement
Excellent communication and presentation abilities
Proficiency with PLM systems such as Agile and Windchill
Technician Support Career Stream: Provides technical support in areas such as production, operations, maintenance, safety, testing, process improvement or product development. Uses schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions or defined plans to perform testing and troubleshooting on electronic or mechanical components, equipment or systems. Gathers, maintains, formats, compiles, and manipulates technical data using established formulae and procedures, and performs detailed mathematical calculations. For higher levels, may suggest and/or make improvements to optimize work processes.
Differentiating Factors Autonomy: Seasoned individual contributor, working under limited supervision, and providing assistance and training to lower-level employees. Runs minor projects, including performing tests, interpreting data, developing reports. Organizational Impact: Performs technical activities requiring considerable judgment and may have ownership of minor projects. Work consists of technical tasks that are typically not routine. Innovation and Complexity: Technical problems faced are general and may require some analysis to understand and resolve. Expected to independently propose solutions to problems for supervisor review. Required Knowledge and Experience: Requires complete and broad knowledge of operational systems, techniques and practices typically gained through extensive experience and/or education. Requires minimum of 4 years of relevant experience; may require vocational or technical education or certification in addition to prior work experience.
