You will use your expertise to:
  • Provide support and input to ensure safe, efficient, and successful operation of electrical assets ranging from 13.8kV to 260kV
  • Follow regulatory standards such as NERC-CIP under increased network and Industrial Control Systems (ICS) complexity
  • Support the development and sustainment of the performance metrics for SCADA within the Transmission and Distribution group
  • Monitor system performance and investigate activities to ensure safe and reliable operations
  • Participate in Incident Management and Corrective Action (IM/CA), Process Hazard Analysis (PHAs) and job safety analysis, and Management of Change (MOC) processes

Must-haves (minimum requirements):
  • Five years of experience in an industrial setting
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Electronics, Computer Science, Process Control, Instrumentation)
  • Been registered, or are eligible to register, as a Professional Engineer with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA)
  • A valid driver’s licence and a clean driving record
  • Outstanding collaboration skills that enables you to build solid, positive relationships with diverse groups
  • Alignment with our

Preference for:
  • Experience with networks and complementary technologies such as Cisco Catalyst and Cisco ASA
  • Advanced level skills and knowledge of SCADA systems, OSI Monarch, GE RTU, SEL RTAC, Subnet Substation Explorer with relevant communication protocols, Allen Bradley PLCs (PLC5 and contrologix)
  • Knowledge of physical and virtual network operations, standards, and fundamental principles
  • Capacity and performance management tools such as VMware vCenter Operations, Tripwire and Solar Winds
  • Physical and virtual servers operation and maintenance (VMware vSphere, Microsoft Server and SQL)
  • Data management and protection software such as Acronis
Where you’ll be working, your work schedule, and other meaningful information:
  • You will work out of our Base Plant Mine in
, Alberta * Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday, with a rotational 24/7 on–call support
  • This position is safety sensitive
  • This position is security sensitive which requires you to clear a criminal history check
  • If you reside outside of Fort McMurray, relocation of your primary residence to within 60 km of Fort McMurray is mandatory. Relocation support will be provided; we offer highly competitive housing assistance to eligible individuals
