Spee-Dee Delivery is looking for a self-motivated and organized individual who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment. As a Night Driver you would transport freight between branch locations and sort packages in a safe and timely manner.
Hours and Wages:
- Monday- Friday, 10:00PM- completion
- 10-15 hours of overtime expected each week
- Paid OT at time and a half after 40 hours per week
- Starting wage: $20.00-23.00 per hour, plus shift differential
- Delivers and picks up freight to transfer between branch locations
- Makes pick-ups at after hour shippers
- Loads and unloads freight by hand carefully from fleet vehicles to avoid damage
- Scans inbound freight for tracking purposes
- Sorts freight by zip code, city, or state
- Complies with all company safety policies and DOT policies
- Notifies management of any problems or discrepancies
- Inspects and reports any mechanical problems with the vehicle
- Maintains professional personal appearance as well as cleanliness of vehicle
- Assists other drivers and operations personnel with duties, as needed
- At least 21 years of age and hold a valid Driver's License
- A good driving record which meets company standards
- Ability to operate a manual transmission, or have the willingness to learn
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen, criminal background, and a DOT physical exam
- Ability to bend, lift, twist, climb stairs, while moving freight on and off company vehicle
- Ability to lift and move freight weighing up to 100 pounds
- Ability to work with all types of freight which include, but are not limited to: hazardous material, perishable food and alcohol, firearms, ammunition, and live animals
- Possess good customer service and can work independently
