Description Senior Environmental Planner & Project Manager Seattle, Portland or Remote within PNW The Pacific Northwest Environmental Planning Team is currently seeking a Senior Environmental Planner to support environmental permitting and review, including state and federal environmental permit applications, technical studies, and SEPA and NEPA compliance. You will join an existing group of natural resource and planning professionals that includes wildlife biologists, aquatic resource biologists (waters, wetlands, and riparian areas), environmental and conservation planners, restoration ecologists, and regulatory specialists. Current project workload is focused on Washington and Oregon, but could also include support for California, Idaho, Alaska, or other regional projects. The position is based in the Pacific Northwest, with office locations in Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR, and the option to work remotely. What You Will Do Serve as a project director or project manager on large complex projects. Develop comprehensive permit applications to obtain environmental permits and approvals for a wide range of public and private projects. Maintain a thorough understanding of CEQA, SEPA and NEPA, including staying up to date on case law and providing support on complex projects to accurately advise clients. Write proficiently with ability to manage multiple project schedules with competing deadlines and budget constraints. Interface directly with key clients and help build and maintain great relationships. Lead business development efforts and contribute to identifying new leads, writing proposals and bookings. Communicate with clients, internal staff, and subconsultants to ensure project needs are met. Collaborate with the regulatory agencies on procedures and requirements. Manage and author deliverables. Mentor early career staff. What You Need to Have BS, MS, or PhD in degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Planning, Biology, Ecology, or related field. 10 years of experience in environmental consulting or related field with a focus on wetland science and management, NEPA, SEPA, and environmental compliance; education equivalents, including advanced degrees will be considered. Professional Skills Experience obtaining environmental permits, reviewing technical studies such as those addressing biological resources, cultural resources, air quality, noise, traffic, and hydrology. Business development experience. Strong work ethic with a positive attitude and thrives in a collaborative setting. Advanced knowledge and understanding of environmental planning and related fields. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience interfacing with external clients, members of the public, and government officials. Strong analytical skills, including attention to detail. Strong project management skills, including ability to take and give direction, stay organized, and manage time effectively. Commitment to overseeing preparation of high-quality work within established budgets and schedules. Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position. The pay range for this position is: $94,247.00 - $160,220.00 Seattle, WA (WA25)
