Data Protection Engineer
This position is for a mid to senior level Netbackup / Spectrum Protect (TSM) administrator.
Candidate will work as a data protection administrator in a large, diverse application environment consisting mostly of Unix, Windows, ESX servers.
Hours:
Candidate must be willing to provide 24*7 on-call support including some weekend work
Desired Technologies:
Spectrum Protect (TSM), Veritas Netbackup , EMC Data Domain, Veritas Netbackup Appliance,
IBM Tape Library, DDBoost , Unix , Windows,
Primary skills/tasks:
Veritas Netbackup installation, configuration, troubleshooting including
client cluster configuration, SLP, OpenStorage, Vault.
TSM Client (Unix and windows) installation, configuration, troubleshooting including
client cluster configuration, Oracle, RMAN and MSSQL agents, DDBoost
Work with Unix/Windows administrators on troubleshooting backup/restore issues
Install and manage Veritas Netbackup for NAS/NDMP
Experience with Netapp Snapvault and Snapmirror
Regular/periodic operational tasks include:
Generate backup reports
Satisfy audit requests
Handle Service Now tickets for restores, schedule changes, etc.
Manage Disk/Tape hardware (Data Domain and LTO tape drives)
Work with vendors on support cases
Manage vendor site visits
Work as escalation for Unix and Windows teams
Secondary skills:
Experience with Linux/Unix, command line, shell and python programming
Experience with SAN and NAS technologies
