Job Description Position : Warehouse Associate Location: Fontana We are not just a box company. Premier Packaging is a fast growing, forward thinking provider for all packaging needs. From corrugated, warehouse solutions, design & engineering to packaging supplies. This position will be responsible for all duties within the areas of Assembly, and Forklift Operations, and reports to the Warehouse Supervisor. The tasks listed below describe the major responsibilities of the position but should not be considered conclusive. This position requires completion of an OSHA approved forklift certification course. Essential Functions - Assembly: · Lift up to 25 lbs alone and up to 50 lbs assisted. · Stand for up to ten hours. · Position requires repetitive motion of the hands and wrists. · Majority of work performed is erecting a box, inserting a foam piece, closing and unitizing. · Participate in inventories and work overtime as necessary. · Obey all safety procedures and policies. Report accidents and unsafe acts. · Submit to a urinalysis after any accident or display of odd behavior. · Read a tape measure, write clearly and perform basic math. · Read and interpret job ticket specification sheets and ratios. · Perform general housekeeping of a workstation and assigned common area to include sweeping and disposal of trash. · Function as part of a team to perform “one piece flow production.” (Individuals completing separate tasks in sequence to build a finished product.) (Also called an “assembly line.”) · Identify, segregate, label and quarantine defective materials. · Complete accurate production paperwork including: start and end run time, number of units produced and total quantity completed. · Input accurate daily production into a touch screen that is online with a central computer system. · Affix proper load tags with correct counts on both in process and finished goods. · Comply with established performance standards on each job. (Also known as “time study” or “pieces per hour.”) · Operate a stitch gun, glue gun, hand bander, heat gun and bundler. · Assist other departments as directed. Essential Functions – Forklift Operations: · Lift up to 25 lbs alone and 50 lbs assisted. · Participate in inventories and work overtime as necessary. · Maintain aisle ways in high state of housekeeping. · Read a tape measure, write clearly and perform basic math. · Possess a working knowledge of product identification and load tags. · Refuel tow motor; perform both preventive maintenance checks and operator level maintenance. · Obey all safety procedures and policies such as use of seat belts, lights and horns. Report accidents and unsafe acts. · Submit to urinalysis after any accident or display of odd behavior. · Ability to accurately read pull tickets and pull correct finished good items for the order. · Able to load trailers in the correct order so material is stable to ride during delivery. · Unload corrugated and industrial vendor trailers, identify line items, verify receipts and store finished goods in designated areas. Turn in receipts to Warehouse Supervisor · Remove finished goods from conveyor main, take off line and store in designated area. · Identify correct finished goods, retrieve from rack or other area and pull orders as they are placed in the order tray. · Assist other departments as directed by a Supervisor. · Keep the rework area supplied with items to be reworked while maintaining order in the area. · Load customer pick-ups and assist salesmen as needed when picking up orders themselves. · Ability to perform cycle counts when asked by the Warehouse or Operations Manager. Requirements: · High School Diploma or GED preferred · 1-3 years previous experience in an industrial environment. · This position requires possession of a valid forklift operator license/certification · Overtime hours are a requirement, as well as some weekend work.
